"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"
Nic, you think St George's day anachronistic or something? Hell in my household we still celebrate Empire Day on the 24th of May. You are a man of a few years on his (still young) shoulders, surely you remember celebrating it, even if that was back in your school days and short trousers.

I was threatened by the local council last year as i put the Flag up in my shop Window. I was told it was a symbol of racism, i laughed and said "funny i thought it was our nations flag, go and tell the police across the road to take it theirs down" . I got a nasty letter several days later informing me i would be watched in future.
I would say "you are kidding me", but sadly I somehow know that you aren't.
How very tiresome.
Will you fly it again?

I resent that remark!
I have my shorts on today and I will be off Morris dancing a little later in celebration of this wonderful National day when we celebrate the life of St George who was, as it turns out, Italian!
Or from Palestine, depends which history you read, but that is hardly the point is it?

More remembrance day than St. George, but great effort and good on you! Deano must be in good humour with me for once, LOL.

Indeed I will . I have people come into my place from all walks of life, all backgrounds and all religions and not a single one has even hinted at any offence
Also, I retract my previous statement, I am in the shit!
