Its pretty easy to germinate most things with experience. I was germinating pine trees for members of the National Bonsai Society, its just following certain rules. Some require heat, some require freezing, some require vitamin B1 etc etc
Then the soil is important, I once heard from an old garden center owner, if you need advice on soil , ask a bonsai grower. That's because we are keeping trees that technically are full size in miniature form, in pots sometimes only an inch deep. One of the first things I was taught was correct soil mixtures, grit sizes, aeration , additives, clays etc.
I won't go fully into growing from seed, it would take all night, best advice is follow online instructions for germination, dose your growing medium in cheshunt compound to stop the seeds going mouldy, and don't feed until your second set of leaves appear or you will burn the roots
