If anybody sources the pictures they talk about in the news report please, please pass them onto me, I cannot find them online.

"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

how the hell do you get images posted into this in a larger size - what code do you use? I looked for the pics - looks like they have all been pulled from main stream media sites - they will turn up soon.

I do find it strange that people get a bit of pleasure from seeing someone wipe their arse on the French flag? What would be the reaction if the photo showed someone wiping their arse on the union flag?

                Only recently, historically, not so.

Essentially the fun is more in the reaction of the French press.

                  Nationality.....
As the late and very great Bill Hicks said, and I paraphrase, "the world was round the last time I looked" . He also said the factor that decided your nationality was where your parents fucked...If you want to stamp out sabre-rattling, have pictures of your folks fucking on the national flag!!!

The French have always been allies of Scotland. There is a thing called L'Alliance Vielle (I think! MY French may be a bit rust!) The Auld Alliance.

I may be wrong, but I think Scots can still claim citizenship of France if they want to, courtesy of the Alliance.

People tend to forget that the UK is just 300 years old and before that, Scotland had an agreement with France that whenever England went on one of their raids into France, the Scots would raid England and vice versa.

Personally, I like France and the French. The French government seems to have bigger balls than the Brits and stand up for their citizens more than the Brits do.

I think the reason that the English don't like the French is purely because they see the culture and style emanating from France and they're jealous!

Ah, see, that is why we have owned Scotland for three hundred years, they allied themselves to the French. History has shown this to be a poor choice, at least if you expect them to come running to your help rather than the other way around. They are only the allies of the UK English/UK when fighting a common enemy, such as the Germans. They prove to be a poor enemy and a worse allies.

If this is reduced to petty arguments or direct insults it wont be by myself.

This was started as a laugh at over reacting press, hardly something new. I think everything I said is factually correct so any annoyance people have should be directed at history and not me.

There are a long list of things you could mention in the past of the English that would annoy me but I would not feel malice to the person that mentioned the fact!
