I made it back to Scotland just in time. Wanted to stay in Germany for a tad longer. That would have been a disaster for me. Hope that the volcano stops spitting ash and everyone can continue his journey.

'The worst weather for flying is Volcanic Ash but that's something you'll never put on your weather report in the UK, I've never recorded it in 30yrs'.

How ironic and timely was this quote...almost scary I tell ya!

Glad you made it to Scotland Cris, I am still trying to get out of it! Third day no flying for us, although some flights did get away we were not in the safe ash free corridor. My mate spent a second day fishing on his own blanked & packed up, he's of home tomorrow. No likely weather window tomorrow, maybe a slim on on Monday.
Heard today some Scandinavian airline may have to start laying off staff shortly if the grounding continues much longer.

Cheers pal. The weather doesn't look very good at the moment and I don't think flights to continental Europe will leave the UK anytime soon. I fear it might be next week until we can have a clear for all.

Is there a chance of you getting on a ferry Simon?

Well, I had to canx my trip to the Netherlands to join my team. Tried planes, trains, and automobiles...No luck.
Another aspect of this air and land freeze halt into the UK is that our commissary food stocks are going bare. No mail coming in either.
At least I have cigars and beer...All OK then.

Looks like ash on my car and there is a very faint whiff out there.

It is a wedding, but very much a downscaled version, this just lasts a week Probs about 500-1000 people there too
