Oh, very controversial! Where do we all stand on nature v nurture?

Personally, the tabula rasa theory holds a lot of water for me, but I cannot write off what seems like innate behaviour, i.e. everything before object permanence!

a woman drove me to drink and I didn't have the decency to thank her

anyone who hates children and animals can't be all that bad

I cook with wine , sometimes I even add it to the food

if I had my life to live over, I'd live over a saloon

I never drink water it could be habit forming

A couple along the same lines:

"If the Third World War is fought with nuclear weapons, the fourth will be fought with bows and arrows" Lord Louis Mountbatten

              "
I do not know how the Third World War will be fought, but I can tell you what they will use in the Fourth - rocks!" Einstein

A little morbid perhaps, but worth mentioning.

                How true is this one?

"By the time a man realises that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he is wrong"

                Charles Wadsworth

In the middle of this great book, and here is my favorite quote from it thus far:

"There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own."
