Most of my firends smoke anyway so we all enjoy them together!

What do non-smoking mates think of your interest in cigars?

I've always been a bit of an 'individual' shall we say, so it surprises none of the people I know. I revel in the attention it attracts tbh. I saw Dirk Benedict (Face from the A-team!) play Columbo on stage last night with a cigar (unlit...) and it certainly helped create a persona. I imagine many of us can empathise.
I get mixed results with my mates, some turn into my mother and hit me with the old "should you realy be smoking in your condition?" routine but most of them accept it but dont join in, a couple of my mates will and im slowly working on corrupting the othersDirect from the House of Cigarsmoke
Smoke em if you got em!

Most of my mates think it is cool, I have the odd one who hates it but they are usually anti smoking full stop.
I enjoy trying to introduce new people to cigar smoking.
Must remember next time I have dental paint ot have good long smoke. Good advice.

The guys in my squadron love it and many tend to gather around me (outside) when I pull out a cigar for a smoke...It becomes a great way for them to open up a bit, breaks the ice.
My peers usually try to mooch a cigar from me or usually know I am good for at least a couple of them, which I really don't mind sharing. Now their wives view...now that's a different story!

Interesting thread Bryan
My friends and colleagues, when I 'came out' generally said "What?"
Colleagues were more baffled initially with the whole thang and scene, if you like. However, a few really wanted to see a humidor with sticks in, so last year I obliged. They thought it/they looked wonderful"Go you good things...geddem int'ya"

Similar thing here, cj.
The funniest thing is to discover by chance that somebody you know is really into cigars. It's an open door to endless talk and opportunities to meet and smoke.
I am really cautious about introducing novices to cigars - especially if they have given up smoking cigarettes - because they might get hooked and spend a fortune on sticks and storing and chopping clobber like many of us!

The worst development of last year was my wife going completely off the scent whilst pregnant Prior to pregnancy, she was fine with all things puro, but can't stand the whiff now. It's a bugger."Go you good things...geddem int'ya"

Most of my friends don't seem to have an opinion, but i do have one buddy who likes a smoke, and when we go away with work we fire a few up now and then.My photoblog: http://chrisclarkphoto.blogspot.com/

Right well, my female friends (that have so far heard) clearly aren't impressed. Or rather, they simply don't care, but still find it bordering on unpleasant.
Male friends are divided into two camps: one set of friends (including my best mate) think it's fairly suave and jump at the opportunity to try one. Few others think it's somewhat pretentious bla bla. /care
