The match is not even a competition, the two teams are playing DIFFERENT GAMES. The "Yanks" are playing something called "soccer", the "Limeys" are playing football. When our American "brethren" try to play football they have a misshapen ball, wear crash helmets and pad themselves out in fake muscle suits. When the English (British if I must be "pc") try to play the American game we call it RUGBY. We rugby for the white collar chaps and football for anybody north of Watford.
Personally it is all bollocks in my opinion. In my day we just had wars and thought ourselves damn lucky to have that much!

"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"
I agree with you about the archery but I stopped doing that when I discovered heavy artillery! LOL

Wigan fan all my life. You can't grow up in this town without being a fan or playing. I was a prop through school and college, but got sick of broken bones and a constant broken nose lol

Last time we did that we burned down the Capitol Building. But, as none of us I'm sure really want to see Mr Obama without a roof over his head, maybe football is the better means of settling some of the scores centred around tea with our errant, delinquent relations?
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
