  • Scotland v England

Well done to all my English friends. You managed to contain us today when I really thought we would raise our game and take a win.
Will raise a glass to you as I enjoy a nice boli RC later.

I thought you'd beat us today. Probably a draw was a fair result.

At least I won't get my mother calling me straight after the game to crow if Scotland win. She does that every time & I would never be so ungallant as to do it to her!

      What a truly awful game.

I loved Brian Moore's comment part towards the end when it was looking like being a draw:

"The last time these two teams drew was in 1989 when Andy Robinson was playing. So was I as it happens. It was a dreadful game. Just like this one actually..."

I'm just looking forward to tomorrows LV Cup matches. Fingers crossed that a slightly depleted Gloucester can beat a severely depleted Cardiff team.

        Ho hum.

Scotland v England games never seem to be exciting affairs really What the late bill McLaren would call "tousy"
/would certainly expect a Gloucester win tomorrow. G/l.

            My mother should be happy - she's 50:50 English/Scottish (and it's mother's day tomorrow).

Thought it was an awful game. Far too many mistakes and Scotland seemed to want to kick every time!

Running rugby was just not on the menu!

As a Scot, wins or draws dont come around that often, so dont know whether to celebrate that we didn't lose, be pragmatic over a draw or wish we had had another gloriuos failure and clutch defeat from the jaws of victory...like we did in Wales

My complaint every time. I coach and am forever ranting about needlessly giving away possession. You can't score if they have the ball, and vice versa.
Often wonder if the basics are not deemed good enough for top players.
Scots forwards played reasonably well at rucks so even if backs had to get into contact we were managing to win ball back. Therefore as you say, why kick the f***ing thing to them!!!!! Sorry carried away into rant normally kept for coaching. Apologies for naughty word.

What I don't get is how professionals can lie on the ground after tackling & give away a pen - nearly getting carded in the case of Borthwick - they seem to think they are invisible to the ref. Why not just get up? He got no advantage from it.

To be honest with you, I don't think we have the confidence to run the ball as we have far too many handling errors! Overall, we look like a good team and then we make basic errors and get beaten. Just look at the Wales and Italy games - shocking schoolboy errors!
