  • Touchscreen phones

The time is approaching for me to get a new phone and I don't want to get it wrong like last time...

Do those of you who have touchscreen phones miss having a physical keypad? If you could tell me what touchscreen phone you have too that would be helpful.

    Thanks!

i would go with a iphone but they are very common.

If you know how to use it then you will literally have the world at your fingertips.

yes I have just sold my android htc hero because I am missing the qwerty kbd!
looking forward to get back the good old htc G1 or the new droid on motorola.
the keyboard on all touchscreens is fair, suggesting words and stuff like that making it easy to type, BUT still... physical keyboard is better!

          lol er......

if your on a contract or have unlimited web then you can use the internet and watch youtube and sky player 24/7, i have a program that makes my iphone into a wireless hotspot so my friends can connect to it and use my internet and i can also make my laptop connect to my phone wirelessley to use its internet which is cool when your on a train or something.

Also i can access my pc through the 3g connection when not at home.

I guess not alot of people will use those features but they benefit me.

Hi Dave, obviously everyone different but personally would go for something with a physical keypad. Currently have a nokia E71 and had Blackberry previously. Both my eldest son & my daughter have touchscreen phones. Son hates it, daughter always uses the slide out keypad to text etc. Seems most are either too sensitive or not enough.
That said, still keen on the i-phone but possibly thats just its pose factor, even for an older git like myself. Anyway I changed from orange to 3 for far better deal and 3 don't do the i-phone. Even if they did wouldn't pay the extortionate monthly payments when I already get 500 mins, unlimited text and unlimited e-mail for just over half of the cheapest i-phone deal I've seen.

Hmm. A lot of people seem to be very polarised by this. I'm between a Blackberry (don't know which one) and the HTC Desire hence my struggle.

I'm wondering if those who don't miss the keys are iphone owners, in which case it might be the touch keyboard implementation that's the issue, not the lack of keys.

being an iphone user i am now used to having touchscreen phones, when i tried using a friends keypad phone to text i found it frustrating probably because it was a year since i used a keypad phone but each to their own i guess.

I have the iphone, im very pleased with it and dont miss a physical tpe pad at all, in fact i find touchscreems very easy to text as it becomes a full keypad.
Smoke em if you've got em

I too have an iphone. I think it is great. I prefer the touchscreen as it becomes a keypad when needed.
