No photo ...fuck'em, but watch out they don't dig up some cctv, ask for 'disclosure' of all evidence if it is heading towards court. Make sure you have those 'no smoking' signs displayed in all company vehicles, another piece of BS legislation IMHO, I understand if it is a shared vehicle but when it is assigned to one person what is the harm?

I concur--the two are blurred quite a bit, and I think Orwell, a very keen observer of the uses and abuses of language, would be miffed at the reduction, as he would the cctv system.

                Bollocks

What a load of fucking bollocks. What on earth is it with the arseholes charged with running the country. (yes, I know it's really run from Brussels) In fact thats maybe part of the trouble, the UK parliament isn't allowed to make big important laws so they now get off on making the wee pishy, lets piss someone off because we can, laws.
We're forever hearing crime statistics, murder, rape, stabbings, armed robberyy, old folk scared to go out, vandalism, arson, joyriding, need I go on. Whats the problem. Alcohol, drugs, broken homes, its not their fault, its society. So say the do gooders, bollocks the problem is the government. They have allowed a generation to grow up with no respect with their, lets ignore it all and ask someone else what to do, tactics. We need more police to help stop "real" crime. Problem, can't afford it. We need more prisons. Problem, can't afford it, in fact we'll let more people off with a warning for being naughty. Real reason we can't afford it is we spend so much on absolute shit. Another tier of management here, another pile of young soldiers & equipment off to Iraq or Afghanistan, a nice logo for the olympics, an olympic committee, some more committees, they seem like a good idea. Hey lets get a bunch of numpties to go out and enforce the pishy laws, then we can fine people for insignificant shit and bring in some cash. What do you mean, they don't bring in enough to justify their cost? Oh well, another budget fucked but I'm sure its what the people would have wanted their money spent on. Better than proper policing work or health or education or that kind of crap. Oh Gordon, before you go home, sir. Who's turn is it for the brain tomorrow?

Ps agree with you 100% peanut, just in case you hadn't picked up on my drift there.

I had a great evening out with my wife on saturday, haven't been out in a long time and we needed it. Came home to my neighbours front garden trashed , his fences smashed up etc. We knocked and she was in a real state, a gang of teenagers had been harassing them , when her husband went out one threatened to stab her and him, so he grabbed the lad (he's about 16 and a well known troublemaker) , in the scuffle the lad went through the fence panel and started crying. My neighbour held him until the police came. Guess who got arrested, yup my neighbour. Never done anything wrong in his life, he was protecting his wife and young son. We sat with her until he was released, now he has to wait and see what happens next

I for one am sick of this shit, nothing else to say really just felt angry enough to get that off myu chest

Lee, I feel your frustration and that is the huge problem here!

The crazy thing is it's only going to get worse and that links to PeanutP's original post. Budgets are going to be cut, it's already happening in London where the Mayor is intent on cutting spending on the Police to show how wonderful the Conservatives are going to be and ahead of local elections.

The final result will be that there will be even fewer police and the numpty Communityalmostapolicemanbutnotquite's will be increased because they cost less to recruit, train and keep.

Here in leafy Barnet there is an upsurge in bag snatches in the high street and someone who has to bravely resort to protecting his loved ones from thugs gets thrown in chokey.

Almost makes you wish you lived in Portugal!

And to top it all the VAT man has lost yet another of my VAT returns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Haringey council are probably one of the most petty I have seen.

Many, many years ago I worked as a baliff's assistant, most of the work was to recover unpaid poll tax when it first started and business rates etc.
We were once sent to a greengrocers to recover a unpaid business rate of 25p!!!
                        He gave me an apple.

That's crazy. They only sent you to keep the figures right; the number of dept cases vs. number of bailiff collections ratio good for the council numbers. 25p, lol, stupid council staff should just right it off....but I'm afraid committee takes hold and the one pernickety librarian like immovable opinion of one prevents common sense ever being a factor, just draconian following of some rules to the extreme.

Just voicing what I believe a lot of people are thinking.
Lee's post says it all, a bunch of wee neds frighten your wife & family and you get done for protecting them. Bunch of namby pamby do gooding pricks. Again the story from the "liberals", not his fault, it's society, its his broken home, its drugs, alcohol etc etc. Bloody excuses that cause scum like that to behave as they do. They know someone will stand up for them. WHAT ABOUT US LAW ABIDING FOLK LOOKING FOR A NICE PEACEFUL LIFE?

Sorry Nic, losing the plot again. For the benefit of the uninitiated:
"Pishy"- definition is along these lines- An act of questionable importance eg. something that is perceived as a lot of PISS is in fact PISHY. Used in sentences thus, "our government puts a great deal of store in a number of PISHY little things rather than dealing with the important issues. (cos they can't)
