  • Car Question?

About 6 months ago I bought a new Ford S Max from Ford Direct Dealer.

I was cleaning out the boot last weekend when I took the boot mat out to hoover it and thought I would check the spare tyre.

Or so I thought... it wasnt there.....
what was there was some sort of hard foam wheel shaped thing with some sort of pressurised puncture repair can and manual. Which says that after a puncture you can fill the tyre with this stuff pump it up and off you go home or to the garage.

So where's the bloody spare wheel?? have I missed something and they dont give spare wheels with new cars anymore (isnt that illegal?) or have the garage done me over.
I will be going to the said garage at the weekend but would like some thoughts to go with it before I go and kick off.

Is it not strapped underneath the boot?

Last 2 cars i have had didnt have the spares, only the get home repair kits. The last was because they were irmscher 19inch wheels for the VXR , they were 500 for the wheel and 250 for the tyre, i could have one but would have to pay, plus it wouldnt fit in the spare slot.

Seems a common trend these days Boss with manufacturers.

            For Ovious Reasons Don't

            A Ford
            Found
            On
            The
            Road
            Dead
I never heard of such a thing. I would call at the dealership and ask wheres the Tire?
This ways you'll know for sure.

that is standard on the s.max and a spare isn't an option. You will also need a new tyre if you use the conti kit as it cant be washed out of the tyre . Get slime instead.

Cost and weight (therefore mpg and c02) improvements. So often no real spare tyre any more.

Yes, I've had this on my Galaxy - the bigger brother of yours Boss.

I have been unlucky enough to have 2 punctures and as well as the substantial cost of a new tyre you need to get a new bottle of the goo, which is not pennies. If you don't flush out the Conti kit you will need a new compressor too - another ?40. It all adds up!

                      Not a fan myself.
