Plenty of cigars and the mail(post)has been canceled for two days.
The storm has broke all kinds of records.

You are exactly right, a self propelled walk behind show blower.
Somewhat underpowered for a storm of this magnitude but it held it's own.
It can move more snow faster than shoveling,by a long shot.

Buddy, any idea of what it's like in Boston and Albany? My wife's flying into Boston and then on to Albany next Wednesday.....

Hey Dave, you think you have it bad?

We had three inches this morning! Kent has ground to a halt. My mate is getting married in Folkestone on Saturday - maybe I'll call him and see if he wants to play snowballs instead - his fiancee will probably jump in the sea if the snow ruins her wedding. It might be just them there!

Don't worry though - we have plentiful supplies - we'll make it through until the weekend

Nice pics Dave! Was watching the online WUSA9 report...Pulled all the Plows off the roads since visibility was too bad??? Drivers claiming they could not see the plow on the truck . Fredrick county (where you live IIRC?) closed most highways and roads?

But it looks like you have it all under control with the snow blower and, most importantly, a few young lads to operate it for you Hope digging out goes well.

Just a quick response to a brother from across the aisle.... just answerin' you understand!

Me amigo in the Eastern US has a few blu-balls.... errr, I mean blue ribbon llamasthat he used to show.

So to answer your question...yes a few not so cute ones, but many of the award-winning kind.




NOW, back to all this greiving over senor Baltimoran's predicament.

When we last left our truck-drivin' amigo, he was attempting to plow his was to civilization and the local 7-11 using a (ahem!) blower he likely bought at the the local Walmart.

Frederick County here yes.The plows had to stop when the blizzard warning came up.That was statewide,not just Frederick Co.
As far as digging out,I'm as exhausted as I've been in years..

Actually we had a whole nine inches in my section of south-East Kent and the whole of life came to a standstill. Folkestone / Dover / Deal are headline news.

Not half so impressive...

I find the fact that all the schools were closed - even if I gained near-dawn private puff time - is rather pathetic.

We're supposed to have the Spirit Of The Blitz in this country, after all.

Yesterday afternoon, there were a few snowflakes and the kids where I work quietly texted their parents to come and collect them because school was going to close early. A haemmorage (sp?) of children started, with squeals of injustice from those left behind.

The kids I teach wouldn't use the term squeals of injustice. Not fucking fair, more like, but you develop your own ways to cope n care.

So many kids were collected that the place did actually close early.

Anyway, I'll get my snow blower out for tomorrow's crack at the filthiest of habits.
