I have a Nespresso machine and am very pleased with it. I'd love to have the time to always be a coffee purist but i do not and this fills the gaps very well indeed.

Make sure when it arrives you claim ?40 cash back offer.

And when you first open an account you can get a sampler box with 250 capsules containing a selection of everything. We were surprised by how many of the types/ flavours we like, but my preference is at the stronger end of things.

Enjoy it when it arrives..............great with a cigar for sure.

        Paul.

Oh welcome to the club. LOL. I swear by my Nespresso machine when I do not have time to grind beans and brew, etc.

            The Capsules......

If you can still get them try the limited edition "Special Club". They still have lots at Selfridge's even though it was only had a short production run last year. It is a "Marmite" coffee, you either love or hate it. I really like it but many do not.

The Indriya is the strongest of the new pure origin range and I like that second best, it has proven very popular. Of the traditional range the Ristretto is the best.

This is all assuming you drink espresso and like it strong and full bodied. If you prefer the lungo style the Fortisio is by far the most pleasant after it was changed last year, the made it stronger.

If you need help finding the Special Club that I suspect you can no longer order online then PLEASE ask me and I will see if I can track you down some.

I like the Roma best for a full espresso cup, the ristrestto for a demi. The indira is nice also.

Whilst being a bit of a coffee purist I have spent several weeks with Nespresso machines and one can make a decent espresso with them.

The most important factor for me to make a good shot with Nespresso is to keep the shot brew time very short (often only 8-10 seconds). The indicator is the colour of the coffee once it turns from dark to light stop the pour. This will mean less volume (which is commonly perceived as bad value) but the coffee will be sweeter, tastier and far less loaded with caffeine.

In so far as capsules I found myself using two per drink and liked the combination of a brown and blue or brown and green (sorry don't remember what that correlates to).

One more thing leave the machine on for a while so it can achieve a little temperature stability, it will perform better.
