Seems Cameron's gonna walk it.
More's the pity.
margaretthatcher.org plans to be the biggest online archive for any politician.
She and Blair have so much in common. Destiny politicians. Politicians who made big decisions and deliberately ignored the Cabinet.
I don't know whether we need a dictator or a ditherer.
In my lifetime, I think the John Major era was the worst because he seemed so indecisive.
The worst times professionally have been under Thatcher and Blair who bulldozed so many initiatives through, got everyone working at them, and then chucked new initiatives in before for new ideas before the initial ideas had been implemented.
Manic management. And - in my world - new initiatives that had money thrown at them and had to succeed AT ALL COSTS because Blair's project HAD to be seen to succeed.
I question the stability of the people who want the top jobs in Politics. It's a task that is far too big for anyone, and the people at the top do show signs of going bonkers before their administrations are over. Ironically, the nice ones (Major) seem to be the weakest ones.
I cannot stand the way that Brown's crowd talk nonsense - bullshit - on tap to camera, and I cannot stand the way Cameron's lot are all using "We can't go on like this any more" - or something like that - in EVERY speech to camera at present.
I feel lost at present. I am a Labour man. I hate what Labour are at the moment. I cannot bring myself to vote Tory. I've been scrutinising Cameron, but I cannot vote for the Conservatives because of strong feelings about what I did not like about the Thatcher years. (I'm horrified at her manner when clips of her in the 80s come on the telly. How did we put up with all that pretending to be a member of the royal family?). I won't risk a Lib Dem vote. I've voted Green before but see most of their policies embedded in the mainstream now. The British National Party are a bunch of c**ts. So I'm not sure what to do.
I think the BNP and other 'marginal' parties could make major gains at this election because of the mess of the options.
I'll no doubt vote Labour again, but it will be like sucking a lemon.
And I think I have to be resigned to a Tory administration next time through.
I just pray Cameron doesn't want to be a second Thatcher or a second Blair because it will be a bumpy ride.Last edited by Robusto; 31-01-2010, 07:57 AM.

We were asked by Rollzt at the top not to write about the whys and why nots of our choices but I'm fascinated by people's voting choices. I'd love to hear the Tory point of view put forward. Or the Lib Dem ideas.
We're all grown men.
We can smoke in the lounge afterwards.

It's because a lie is three times round the World, before Truth has had the chance to wake-up!If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Well, at least we in Scotland have the SNP and that's the way I'll be voting. Nothing against any other nationality, I just think we'd make a better fist of it outside the UK.No man has the right to fix the boundary of a nation.
No man has the right to say to his country, "Thus far shalt thou go and no further."

Not a fan of Alex Salmond - never have been. Don't get me started on that one
However, I feel that the Tories will win the UK election. It seems somewhat inevitable. Either that or we have more Brown, who will eventually get ousted and then we magically have another prime minister in power who didn't get voted in.
