  • Coffee machine and grinder project - lots of pictures

I have had a few conversations with people about coffee machines and grinders. I have been asked to post some pics of my set-up so here goes.

I am using a Bezzera BZ99 (modified with an upgraded pump and a P.I.D. temperature controller) and A Mazzer Super Jolly grinder (modified with a custom doser system).

I purchased both of these for a fraction of their new cost on fleabay (?160 for the BZ99 and about ?60 for the SJ) and rebuilt, reconditioned, restored them as a kitchen-top project.

Some before and after pics of the project.

Thats quite a fancy kettle you have there, I'm more impressed with the block of Globals you in the background.
Do you use them all much?

I use my Kai Shun santuko for about 80% of all chopping but they all get an outing from time to time depending on the task. Got a bit obsessed but would not now have gone so Global mad, there are better brands out there.

yes I know what you mean, I wouldnt buy globals again, loved them to start with. I only have 4, you shouldnt need any more than that really. There a real workhorse for me but I often find them uncomfortable when using them for an extended duration if I'm doing dinner parties.

                          Kai Shuns are real nice.

Having a good quality chopper in your hand can really make you feel good sometimes
