I nub virtually every see-gar (unless it's a real dogrocket) because I'm such a cheap bastard. I mean, it's the same friggin' tobacco all the way to the end, right? So if the first 4-5 inches or so were tasty, why not smoke the last half-inch as well? My stogie nubber? A toothpick. Works like a charm. True, I can't stand it up on the table, but then why would you want to? So the ash can drop off and leave a lurvley burn mark? I have a perfectly serviceable 4-seater stogie ashtray which doesn't care if my smoke du jour happens to have a toothpick poking out its side or not. Worst thing that happens is that I get overly involved with a particularly tasty smoke and the damn toothpick burns through. Then it's a game of "Get Thy Crotch Out of the Trajectory of the Burning Nub."
