Just looking or a bit of advice on pipe tobacco.

A US Botl is kindly sourcing me some NC's I was after and in exchange has asked me to send him some different types of pipe tobacco as he has just started using a pipe, he would prefer English tobacco Im not sure shops sell English tobacco but I said I would take a look.

Can anyone advise me what sort of stuff to get or where to go?

I used to enjoy pipe smoking some time ago, but wasn't so informed about tobacco. I would certainly be interested too to know some things about that!

Petersons of Dublin is a very famous shop/brand . Not sure how you would access it in London , maybe check them out on the web? JJ Fox's here in Dublin have a large selection of pipe tobacco too, could be the same in their London branch.
      Keep it country.

                I can vouch for MySmokingShop.
Bought from them a few times. Just trying some Skiff Mixture, it's a good English blend, but there are plenty more.
St Bruno (Which you can get from most corner shops) is good too.

Panto i have a pipe collection at home, you got a lot of different types of tobacco for pipe smoking, from the aromatic ones to the Latakians, i prefer the strong Latakina tobaccos.

The "Presbyterian" it?s one of my fav and i think it?s English, when starting to smoke pipes as for cigars, there are some things that must be read first.

I smoke Latakian tobacco only in the same pipes, and aromatic in others, each pipes should rest at least 48 hours after being smoked ad should be properly "broken" before smoking a full bowl.

There are also some rituals about filling a pipe in a way so it burns evenly and gives the best out of the tobbaco.

I dabble in a pipe smoke from time to time but not terribly often.

I prefer a mild smoke and I prefer the aromatic ones such as Cherry Vanilla or perhaps a Virginia Cavendish mix. I don't know about the brands and English ones in particular for that matter so I'm of no help

I recommend you pop into somewhere that sells loose tobacco mixes and get 25g of each of the ones you fancy and chat to the staff [have a smell of the jars too]. I personally get mine from the ultra-tiny shop in Covent Garden: the 'Sigar & Snuff Parlour'. Now it doesn't have the highest praise in here for cigars since their selection is small, but they do have a few jars [~15 or so] of loose pipe tobacco as well as a myriad of pipes to purchase.

There are also the pre-packed ones you can pick up at any tobacconist, but that's boring. Get the loose stuff in 25g measures and send that.
