I love history, I've always found it so fascinating. I may have done a degree in it instead if I thought there'd be any jobs at the end of it

I am reading: Agile modeling : effective practices for eXtreme programming and the unified process.
And I listen to Isaac Asimov audio books at work.Three Laws are:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I finished 'The Cigar Maker' whilst on holiday, that was a pretty good read starting with the peasant's revolt against the Spanish in Cuba causing our heroes to flee to Florida and encompassing the cigar strike of the early 1900s. Mainly set in Ybor City where I'm hoping to visit next year.'Cigars are a hobby, cigarettes an addiction'

Sounds like that could be a not bad read. I like fact stuff but have the tendency to get a bit boring. Having a story to keep it going would work, think I will have a look out for that one

Just finished 'Dreadnought: Britain, Germany and the Coming of the Great War' by Robert Massie. Fantastic book, really gives a feel for the personalities and arrogance that led us, inexorably, to total war.
Now I've switched to something lighter. Transmetropolitan Volume 8. I love me a good, political comic book.

'Dreadnought: Britain, Germany and the Coming of the Great War' like the sound of that.
Currently reading a sci-fi series of books set during world war 2 but aliens have invaded. Cracking mashing of history and fiction. The series of 7 (I think) books go under the running title of Worldwar and they are by Harry Turtledove
