I am a technical specialist for a US Biotech company; essentially I travel around Northern Europe visiting research groups who need specific technologies.

Spent 10 years in research, spending quite some time studying spider silk as possible biomaterial... even had our own spiders terrarium in house. Might sound creepy, but spiders are great critters .

Hey Dave, those pictures just look like normal driving on Rockville Pike

              Unemployed cigar smoker

Before moving to the UK I worked in the environmental field. Mostly dealing with soil & groundwater contamination investigation and remediation. Also did some indoor air quality, asbestos, and lead work when things got slow.

Majority of the 'fun' work was on military installations dealing with solvents, explosive, chemical agents, radiation yards...all the good stuff. Remainder of the time was spent chasing petroleum leaks and recovering lost product.

All in all great work as I'm not tied to a desk for 8 hours a day. Each project proved to be it's own challenge and kept it interesting with a change of scenery every so often for good measure. Hopefully find something here along those lines in the new year.
Trying is the first step toward failure.

                  Rokkit Scientist

I really am a Rokkit Scientist. Twenty-six years at the Kennedy Space Center. Missed the first five launches, but have seen all 116 since then. Will watch the last 5 launches, then hang it up. Maybe turn my Georky into a commercial business. Maybe just become a gigolo to old ladies on the cruise ships out of Port Canaveral. Maybe buy an old ice cream truck and sell drugs to the school children. Haven't decided yet. Suggestions welcome...
