In the words of Mr Meldrew, " I don't belieeeve it". Other than a few hours at the rugby club of a Saturday my annual "booked out" weekends, where things can't be changed, probably amount to about 4 or 5 per annum. This date is bloody one of them.

As a relative newcomer would have loved to have been there but can't make it.

I remember fondly the happy years I spent as an 'ex-pat' living and working in 'jolly ol jockland', you guy's are true gents (the meanness thing is absolutely undeserved), they'd give you the 'itchy' home-woven, vegetable fibre, shirts off their backs (if you paid for em)!.

Such a beautiful Country, and a warm, welcoming race (mostly).
There was that time following the TV network premier of 'braveheart' when you all got a bit scary though.
I remember it well, thousands of hairy-arsed Scotsmen, charging down Princess Street with faces (and bottoms) painted blue, screaming 'Freedom!!' and 'Death to the English 's!!!

Thankfully, they calmed down a bit once the boozers opened (good job they're rarely closed if you ask me!).
Anyhow, I would love to have met up with you guys, you all sound like 'Top BOTL's', there's not a man among you who I wouldn't be proud to 'tap-up' for a cigar at a herf!

Checked out the bothy at hotel du vin Glasgow for a potential herf.
Nice set up, comfortable and great staff.

smoked a jl2. the Fire was out of gas. they had a blow heater that kept me warm though.

It can accommodate around 10 people and is only open until 10pm for non residents. They said they could not reserve it for us exclusively as its open to guests but said we could book a suite, though i think its unnecessary.

Spoke to reception and they said we are welcome, if we want a meal we need to book in advance.

We could start early afternoon at a bar near George Square, head to a couple of cigar shops in the area, go to the bothy and Afterwords we could go to the Oran Mor which is a few blocks away.
