  • Cigar Shack/Shed thread

I smok down the workshop at the bottom of our garden, but during the winter it's pretty cold, and not too 'hospitable', concrete floor, garden chairs, a table made from a swivel chair base and pressed wood cut into a circle to form the table top. Not the greatest!

Would love to have a lil smoking shack/shed, but wouldn't know where to start. I'd like mine to be warm and or insulated so the dampness doesn't get in there too much, would be nice to have furniture n stuff in there. The sky's the limit.

Can you guys post some of your shacks/sheds so I can maybe get an idea on construction/layout/style? cheers

Yeh I'm very interested too, having just bought a small house with a long garden.

I'm actually going to have two lounges, one of which will be for smoking, but I like the idea of a shack too - might keep the smells at bay!

You had to do it Mr B ay? Now I'm going to feel sick as the proverbial parrot, green with envy and yet still huddling in the rear porch througout winter

Have a gander through here too. Some of the newer members, I'm sure can contribute further on you thread Mr B. We had a few pics up of various lurve parlours, but I can't seem to find it. I'll try harder.

If you were looking for inspiration try this:

Views Shed of the year 2024 or view some of the amazing entries for #shedoftheyear

Been drooling for the last week or so. Pub sheds, garden offices, summerhouses, workshops, even Tardises (or is it Tardi??).
Trying is the first step toward failure.

I am a proverbial pig in shit in mine. I can't do without it and have posted pictures of it elsewhere on here.

My missus and I recently forbade our lads from using it as a bicycle repair room and a drum n bass wigout spot. It is - they must understand - not a shed. It is a place for us - the owners - to keep clean and bliss out in in our own ways.

It is properly insulated, made of wood - and made properly and solidly by our trusted builders. It is the size of a decent room with a long picture window and a ceiling window which give ample light.

It is a bolt-hole which is insulated from day-to-day noise. I crash out on my leather sofa with Radio 4 or the sound of the birds or the wind and the rain. It is warm enough for folks to sleep over apart from in midwinter.

My brain gets punched up by life at times, so I can retreat down there whenever I want and enjoy a good Havana in solitude and reflection. In Summer I set up a keyboard down there and had rehearsals with mates. It does all things.

I love being comfortable with a good cigar and looking out and listening to stormy weather. It's one of the best feelings during routine working weeks when awaydays or holidays are not an option. I like to read during gales. It's cool.

I get away with smoking in the house from time to time, but this arrangement is far less imposing than a Bolivar reeking out the lounge for a couple of days.

Thank God for smoking dog walks. And thank God for my shack since those bastards stopped smoking pleasure in local country pubs. (Still annoyed by that...).

Oh yeah. It's open for smoking 24 hours a day.

As posted previously, i converted half my garage at the bottom of the garden into a smoking room, i was going to just paint the walls but one thing led to another, im not a builder though i put studwork to the walls some insulation plaster board, a light and extract fan ,plaster and paint, firniture, still finding some nice habanos pics with the help of G-Man. I love at the end of the day laying back with a fat cuban i pod playing and a nice single malt, i was given a halogen heater so i could quite easily doze off in there.

Well here it is, my new den from home. Its 10ft x 6ft, more than enough room for me. Bits will no doubt be added over time, but its satisfactory for now. The ceiling is decorated in a Cuban, Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan flag, the curtains Ive made from Richard the Lionheart flags to keep it english, my own little castle.
