I played online since the days of CoD I, actually i enter a few competitions, was part of a clan and all. The game i palyed the most online was BF2.

I got COD MW2 last week and liked it a lot, now i have to try it online...

l4d is purely a multiplayer game, and really you have to play it with a good group of mates. its extremely teamplay driven. teams of 4 survivors and 4 infected trying to take the survivors down.

its definitely not worth it if you're only going to play single player or even if you're playing matches online against randoms. i played l4d with guys from OcUK forums and got to know em and its been the best multiplayer game i've ever had!

How does MW2 play online with PC? I hear alot of bad reviews that say it doesn't play very well as it was a console built game. I have held off on purchasing it for my PC for that very reason.

yeah ive heard its ok but theres no dedicated servers so one user has to host and pings cant be very good if thats the case!

Yeh agreed. PS3 beats PC anyday, no issues with game lag, no server response etc.

                  Recommend buying on PS3.

A lot depends on your hardware too, though I mainly play mmo's, so I don't have a lot of knowledge on pc shooters. I'm running a nice alienware, allows me to play warcraft in highest settings available, or it did until I stopped playing last month.4 years of my life went into that game lol, what a sad bastard

Been playing always in a PC online and it depends on the hardware whether the experience is good or not, i have tried some ISP?s and some overcloking to get the best performance out of my machines and got a great gaming performance. PC all the way, i can?t get used to play without a mouse or a keyboard.

Now i don?t have the time any more for online gaming, nor the patience for that matter.

i'm with Nuno on this , can't get used to console controllers, need a mouse and keyboard..

If anyone mucking about on this on the pc and has a good rig and connection and decides to put up a private game gimme a shout.

And yes this is a pain in the arse that there are no dedicated servers like cod 4, reminds me of years ago being on eof the first adsl people and i had to serve matches on my rig and conn.

Lee Dub since you've just dropped WOW , what you planning on for your next mmorpg adventure (goes for anyone else playing mmorpg's). I've been following the new Star Wars one in development but not too sure.

What kind of system requirements do you need to host a game? Never really played PC games until CSS and now MW2

to be honest not too sure with this game but high end adsl line would help, mines only running at 4 meg. As for the rig the crappiest part of mine is the processor cos its only a core 2 duo e6300 (about 3.3 gig), ram is fine got 4 gig of 667 ddr 2, and vid card is ok 9800gt 512mb but i think the processor will cause lag.

I think that's where I've been going wrong Lasc...I've been playing the one-player game and it's quite tedious TBH
