  • Swine Flu

Well, I'm back! I've just gone back to work after three weeks off with the feckin Swine Flu and a chest infection. This is one flu I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. At one time, I was lying in bed thing, "Jeez, what if I'm like this for the rest of my life?"

I don't know about you guys, but I'm the kinda person who says, "Ach i'll be alright tomorrow." Only problem with this flu is that it doesn't get better for weeks!

      Smoke deprivation.

My only question would be did you keep off the puros? Just kidding. Sounds very rough. Did you take and medicines/ Tamiflu?

Was off the Puros for 3 whole weeks. Hardly even smoked a ciggie! Medicine consisted of Ampiclillin for the chest infection and aspirin (1.5 GRAMS per day!!!) for the aches and pains. By the time I went to the quack, I was too late for the Tamiflu.

Is it just me or do any of you guys leave it till you just can't go on before you go to the GP?

Glad you're still alive! I normally just can't be bothered to go tbh. It either clears up by itself, I end up in A&E or it's not serious enough to warrant going...

Glad to hear you are ok now, are you fully over it now or do you still have some residual symptoms?

Ooh, sorry to hear about that bugger celcis, glad to hear you're back in the land of the living.

Re ailments, Dave's approach is about where it is. Alternatively, I tend to wait until some parts are about to drop off and then hit the GP with a list

Last time in, there were referrals for physio (neck), podiatry (bruised fatty tissue at heel) and small hernia. Had the parumbilical hernia op last Thursday (off work now)

Can't imagine what the swine flu is like.

It's bad enough when man-flu is in the house

                  Same here

I'd agree with the other lads, always keep goin until you literally can't get out of bed and cop an ear load from the missus/boss/doctor.

Both my kids had it in july, and are both sever asthmatics. We were lucky that we got them onto antibiotics pretty quickly, and the symptoms weren't too bad. Our GP didn't want to give them tamiflu , not sure why even now.

Glad to hear you got through it ok, I was pretty lucky to not get it
