Listening to Crosby Stills and Nash on the BBC iPlayer replay from Glastonbury on a summer afternoon pretending my stogie is a doobie (while doing my VAT return!)
Been not listening to any artists in particular lately - been pretty much been doing a compilation of 2009 stuff so far.
What I've enjoyed:
Howling Bells - Radio Wars
Kasabian - West Asylym Shaddam whatever
Grizzly Bear - Veckatimist
Eels - Hombre Lobo
Jack Penate - Everything is New (wow, what a transformation!)
The wife's nagging. Actually I'm letting it go in one ear and out the other according to her.
I had my hearing tested a couple of months back because of the amount of abuse my ears get. It turns out I have "Super Normal Hearing" (whatever that is?) The basics being that I have exceptionally keen ears... However I have a spike of unbelievably good hearing at the same frequency as white noise, which is the same frequency as general back ground noise and also the same frequency as most women's consonants... the audiologist explained that this makes it slightly difficult for me to hear/understand what women are saying when their is background noise. Its a very minor thing and I'm pretty well respected for my "hearing" in my business, but its a great excuse when women are talking...."sorry luv, i don't understand what you're saying, i can see your lips moving, but it doesn't make sense... its a hearing problem you see... my ears filter out women's voices." Perfect. I love my freaky discerning ears!
