      • Some good sounds to sit back and smoke is Banco de Gaia. Try 'Farewell to Ferengistan'.

          • Lascaux...I've a real soft spot for Gogol Bordello. Champing at the bit to see them live. Did you see the the film/documentary (The Pied Piper of H?tzovina) about Eugene Hutz going home and "hanging" with the gypsies. Intriguing.

            • Some great music and quite an interesting insight into the man.

Think I liked the music more than Mr M.

Great NY Dolls track at the start. Never realised they made such pretty music.

check out tarafs de haidouks, saw them a couple of times, real romanian gypsy band and they too are incredible. musicianship is astounding.

                        • Just watched and loved Bill Bailey's Guide To The Orchestra DVD. This is the only show of his I have watched and I'll investigate further now. Really impressed.

I've only seen him on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and I've gone off that programme. It can be very leaden, imo.

                              • One of my best mates loves Mumford and Sons so I should have a listen!

Another singer friend just slung this on Facebook nonchalantly and I'm in heaven.

I LOVE Joni Mitchell stuff, especially The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, and out of the blue I find out about a Herbie Hancock album devoted to her material.

I quite like Tina Turner, apart from Simply The Best type stuff, so this is cool.

And this Herbie Hancock jazz piano playing is... I can't find the word, but it is a good one.

And this is how my girl mate singer sounds when we play, too.

It makes me feel great, this.
