Mr Wing,
I once went to a Fairport Convention concert a few years back. They're not at all that bad! In fact, I've been to a few folky gigs -- and can say that the Battlefield Band, from Scotland (and further afield) are still the best I've heard. Waterson-Carthy come a close second in terms of concert performance.

Being in France really makes you appreciate British Music in a land that still, 200 years after his birth, considers that Johhny Haliday to be their greatest musical star.
Today I have mostly been listening to American music, sung as only travelling french MOR groups can, in a slight French accent when you know they could just as well be singing the Argos Catalogue for all they understand of the words.
But I'm not bitter...this time next week it's the Buzzcocks, little Stevie Winwood, Richard Thompson and, I have just learned, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens live in deepest Oxfordshire...
bring it on! waiter, another bucket of red wine and make it snappy I can still hear that catawalling!Nic

For anyone that is remotely interested I've just posted a new song by my friend (??) Aldous Pinch. Its a sweet little ditty about the gang murder of a witch. You can listen to it at http://www.myspace.com/aldouspinch or on his facebook fan page.

I have seriously got back into U2 just lately seems the thing to be listening too in the car at the moment.I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
The Dawg.
