I think a lot of the NCs don't sell over here, because once you add taxes etc they ramp up to Cuban prices...and people tend to then resort to a Cuban. You can get NCs in the UK, cgars, jj fox et al do a selection.

In addition to what Deano said, I believe that some distributors/manufacturers don't actually want to sell certain products in the UK.

Take CAO for example, they were taken out of UK circulation last year after having fairly wide availability. I bought the last dregs that mysmokingshop had because Simon there explained that the distributor was pulling the range from UK shelves. It wasn't because they weren't selling.... They just decided that it wasn't worth it to them to keep them in the UK.

Shame as I like the CAO brand, you'll just have to go on a few holidays to the US and bring back your legal allowance of 50 CAO's!

They are still available in Germany, I was thinking of doing a long weekend over there with the Mrs.

It was not my intention to cause a stir... So sorry if I have. I was just curious as to why we could not mention international sellers. It would be useful to know which ones were on the level but if that is not possible here then... No sweat. James.

Not a problem, has been a contentious issue in the past, needs re-clarifying every now and then

Just for purposes of my knowledge and this being the perfect place to ask. Does Gibraltar have the same tax on tobacco products as the mainland UK?

This is my first, and probably last, post. When a Romeo No2 costs ?3 from Geneva, and ?13 in Waitrose, something is horribly wrong with the country's taxation.

I don't think anyone here would disagree.... Now come in and have a chat! No need to go so soon.
