I have a similar problem with the iphone, though i would think mine seems more stable, i rarely get kicked out of apps - though it is still a noteable amount, and i do enjoy using it - even with its massive shortcomings. I would be interested in trying out the iphone app - care to share what its about Nic?

funny this, my Iphone has never crashed and I have had both the 3G and the 3GS.... the battery isnt fantastic but once I realised I can just turn off 3G until I actually need it the phone can last for a few days without a charge ... sounds like you got a duffer Big T

Unlikely as it is the second handset. The first was replaced by O2 but they both acted the same. O2 could not answer my complaints and so let me out of my contract after 4/5 months. The only good thing I can say is that it proved a very cheap iPhone. Paid four or five months of the ?45 a month contract, then let out for free.

IMO, thats missing the point of devices such as the iPhone (or any other top end smartphone) The iPhone isn't just a phone, for me it's a phone, a way to get business email where ever I am, a portable web browser, an MP3 and a SatNav, not to mention all the games and apps i can use to fill in the odd quiet minute here and there. I wouldn't want to have to carry around a seperate phone, portable browser, iPod, TomTom etc, this one device does it all and for me it does it well enough.

Wouldn't use anything else right now. Have tried Nokia and Sony's smartphones as well as BlackBerrys and HTC's and a number of iPaq/PPC and the iPhone is still my favourite so far. If you accept that it is a phone and music player with a lot of other add-ons you'll be very happy. Its not a dedicated GPS or laptop for using MS files or a camera. Apps sometimes crash (I have 4 pages of Apps and none of them crash with any regularity) but what other service is that can rival the App store at present?

I have everything switched on permanently bar the push email (3G, app notifications and wifi) and I charge my phone every second day when I sync it with my home laptop.

My blackberry bold gets about 2 days with everything running, I'm also getting several business emails a day and I'm constantly online with. Couldn't live without it to be honest

Lee, yours must be better than mine, because for me the only way I can go without recharging it every day is if I get no calls whatsoever. If I do, and I normally get a few, then I am at the last 20% or so of battery when evening comes.

There are a couple of applications for the blackberry I think that can help with battery life

I bought an iPhone outright a few weeks ago for around ?540....it works out about ?15 more expensive over 24 months compared to an O2 contract but I have the luxury of a month to month contract (O2 Simplicity ?20/month) that I can back out of at any time so when the Vodaphone/O2 price-war starts in January, I can jump ship

So far I'm utterly in love with phone despite the AWFUL camera...seriously Apple, a camera with no flash in today's market is a joke, but as I've bought one the jokes' on me...lol

I must admit, the camera really does suck!! But you can do so much stuff with the phone, I really don't care about the camera
