I've had to agree to share an office with two female colleagues - both very nice - but who wander past my PC screen, or sit near it, and who may be able to see I drop into the site.

These days I use a coffee and cigar picture for anonymity.

It's not really anonymity but it is a way to stop nosy parkers.
    Anybody else do this?

I've never really thought about it (and that is me in mine). I don't like people looking when I'm on the internet full stop. It's like post-modern over the shoulder reading...

One of the women I work with asks me out to her car in the car park in a non-smoking zone and lights a cigarette up in her car and offers me one. I sit there under the security cameras refusing her cigarettes. I told her my brand of smoking lasts up to 90 minutes typically. She doesn't remember. She tends to yack on and I sit there waiting for the smoke Nazis to arrest us.

I can't get much work done in a small office with two women. It is driving me up the wall.

This is strictly between us, you understand.

Getting back to the colleagues who might see you drop in on the site Bryan. Is it a problem for you at work or are you thinking someone might have a gander at some other point and discover you really are quite...fill your own gap in there mate

                        HAHA! Wow, thanks.

My missus took it. We're both into photography and most of the portraits she takes of me I've got something lit in my mouth

I'll be sure to let her know what you think!

Ofsted are currently zooming in on e-safety and teachers who post inappropriately - translate that, possums - on the web. We had to sit through a staff meeting of 90 minutes relating to this last night.

Facebook seems to be a no-no for teachers. I have a problem with teachers who "befriend" young pupils on a social networking site. That is not my style at all.

I am thinking of dropping Facebook because of the focus it is getting. It is banned at work. I can't look at it here.

I get pupils leaving decent comments on band videos I post on YouTube. No problem.

To be honest, I wouldn't be keen on a pupil finding me toking a phat one because it would do the rounds. Unfortunately - and inevitably - if I type my name into google, there is a link to this site.

On the other hand, I want a fucking web-life and don't like external restrictions. I don't like being told what to do at my age when it is not causing anyone harm.

Anyway... Some of the current paranoia going the rounds in my profession is why lots of teachers have ditched Facebook.

I haven't seen the news for a couple of days but I gather Kent Education has been clobbered and that's why we've had a talking heads' swoop on the subject.

I have never been big on alcohol but I am really taking to it currently.

So all that explains why I'm now a cigar and a cup outside a bistrot in Canterbury.

Do you know I thought I recognised that table!

                              Tough it out big man!

In Asda Head office they wear a red cap in the open plan office if they don't want to be disturbed. You could also put some very heavy Drum and bass on your pc speakers and tell them it's your concentration tape!

I think I can understand the anti Facebook thing having read the story about the teach and the pupil but you would think they coudld treat you as adults.

Just remember that we love you and your crazy posts so hang in there and put on that hat!
