So, let me get this straight (following a bit of Googling). Man predicts lottery numbers...

Delayed transmission of draw... Plenty of seconds to get the message across.

hmmm well yes that would be the obvious way to do it, but it was live, and you could flick the channels and the balls he selected were on screen all the time, its something other than a time delay Im sure...

his prediction was made prior to the lottery show even starting, he just showed you what he predicted after draw was made. i tell you he's scary. I wonder if he could convince the cuban governement to send me a box of their finest every month for rest of my life.

Yes, but the lottery is broadcast with a not inconsiderable delay (we're still talking seconds of course). All Ch4 had to do was have someone in the audience and show their broadcast with a much smaller delay.

For example:

BBC broadcast of lottery is delayed by thirty seconds (for example).
Ch4 broadcast of D. Brown's magical mystery ego-massaging tour is delayed by five seconds (for example).
As the draw is made, Ch4 informat calls through the numbers from studio... virtually no delay.
D. Brown has twenty-five seconds to have the details fed to him somehow.

He definitely didn't 'predict' the numbers though...

welll he doesnt claim to actually have predicted the numbers as on Friday hes going to say how he did it, but you may have something with the person in the BBC audience.... hmm will have to wait until friday I guess

ok how about this, the half of the screen that had the balls on it was a frozen frame and the half Derren stood on was live, as the draw took place a stage hand put the correct balls on the tray, the frame is changed to go live, Derren walks over and reveals the correct numbers.... Im no tv expert but Id say that would be fairly easy for them to do

IF he could do this properly why doesn't he just predict every lotto draw and be a trillionaire?

Well because he can't do it at all, he doesnt claim to be able to, its all a trick but still anoying wanting to know how he manages it

Jus saw the youtube vid, cool stuff I spose. I stopped being interested in Derren a while back because 'he always does it' , you don't know if it's all legit etc. I knew he would, Im just not going 'wow omg' anymore. It's more of a cool, thanks for that mate.

As demonstrated at around the one minute mark of the YouTube clip... If he could predict the numbers, you'd have thought he'd have a rough idea when it would be broadcast...
