I find myself agreeing with TJ at the start of this thread. There's a problem when members' dislikes of certain things begin to shape the tone or permissiveness or strictness of a forum.

I am essentially PC BUT I inhabit a world which is not as antiseptic and rosy as the one my 'betters' want me to live in.... So I tolerate mild jokes at my expense. I'm not racist or anti-gay, but I have black and gay friends who have not lost the ability to laugh at a stupid joke or text.
