  • Lascaux at the fringe

seems Patti Plinko and the Boy have had a good fringe, will be nice to hear how it went from Lascaux when he returns and ask for pics of his jumpsuit(reminds me of the 80's)

    from an online review

What strikes hardest about Patti Plinko as she unravels herself from the snakelike coil in the centre of the stage is the profound huskiness and charm in her voice as she seductively cackles and howls her way through opening track ?Sway?. Her band, known professionally as ?The Boy?, consists of a mysterious barefooted man in a dark jumpsuit playing guitar and a slightly less conspicuous lady who drops in and out of the scenario with her finely tuned violin.

Ahhhmazing! I've seen Patti and her Boy a few times now, in London and at C Venues last year, and they've blown me away each time. She was ill when I saw her and had to cancel her show the next night (we had tickets to go again) so her voice was quieter than usual, but still an mindblowing show. The band take you on a real emotional journey through their music. I thought the addition of the violin since I last saw them was excellent, and love the relationship they all have on stage. Highlights of the show were Patti screaming and howling out at the beginning whilst beating her drum, and the beautiful, tragic lullaby song. I can't think of a contemporary musician to compare Patti Plinko to - totally unique, and totally unmissable.

This is easily the best show at the fringe this year - totally entrancing vocals and phenomenal guitar playing too. Mind-blowing, don't miss it!

well done to Patti and Lascaux
