Out of interest what about the business model would mean you’d expect it to grow to that size?

Reason I ask is their success runs the opposite direction of the entire industry away from this style of business. Hard to know yet if they are offering something somehow different or if it’s an admittedly large bubble.

Out of all the fast-fashion business (that are left) they seam to me to be the only one that really invests heavily in marketing be this social-media or terrestrial digital TV. It does help they are an eTailer so don’t have to worry about investments in stores and the £m’s of tech that needs to go in them to operate.

They’re slowly building brand ambassadors which is unusual for a throw-away market and have a loyal customer base that they inherited from Karen Millen, Oasis, Warehouse and Coast.

When this C19 nightmare ends their main focus will 100% be ‘occasion-ware’ (which Coast and KM, to an extent, are well known for) which will likely be around about the same time they also role into their SS21 range so it’s a win/win.

They have a varied brand range that differs enough between each other but covers every season / occasion / budget if that makes sense.

      • I think I’m going to sit on my shares for a while, maybe even invest a little more pre April. I’ve been following a company called Plug power Inc since last June, should have invested then as they were at $15 now trading at $30. They’re involved with alternate power hydrogen cells etc

        • Was expecting a bit of a dip today but all stocks still heading up. Seems crazy but I am up £700+ today. Know it could & probably will slide down over the 1Q but after losing £2,000 in a day back in Sept, it's nice to swing the other way for once (mostly on SNG today). 😉

          • Great news Simon! I just bought some extra Easy Jet while in a dip. I know this is a bit risky

            • Bought into GFIN and IKA recently.
Also sold bitcoin at almost the peak last night before it started crashing! Cashed out at +650£ Risky that one. Not a BC'illionaire yet!

Also set up a google sheet to live track my portfolio as it spans a few accounts. Handy. But more to do.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Well done Banos. I am planning to keep my bitcoins for at least another year. I know it will be +200% or nothing at all, but that’s the risk I’ll take

Never wrong to sell at a profit, but the real question is, what was the price when you bought? Secondly does a stop loss work on Bitcoin?

I first put in 50 and 100 on two platforms to learn how they work. BAck in May last year. It started rising eventually so then put in another 500£ speculatively because FOMO... of course... when it hit what 40,000$ i got the heebies and sold up and withdrew cash. So end to end test complete. Huge fees from bitcoin.com also slower and complex, low fees from Binance app and so much easier.

Think ill buy back i soon, more FOMO now its recovering.

Not figured out a stop loss on Binance app... but it does support it.

                    • Interesting Banos, thanks for the details, I have resisted investing in the US direct or Bit coin ect, trying to keep it simple as possible.

Took a 62% profit today, by top slicing SNG & buying more HE1, after they issued a new RNS this morning. My avge has crept up to 7.7p but have high hopes this will fly & I wanted more in my base so when I add more with the new tax year I can keep my avge as low as possible.

I got into them just at the right time before the recent surge, bought at about 34 and closed at 70 once I'd doubled my money. Expecting a fairly substantial pullback... Although that's also what I was expecting from Tilray (a cannabis stock) but that went up another 23% the day after I pulled it 🤦‍♂️

I'm trying to slow down on my 'trading' and find some good investments, but every time they shoot up I end up getting twitchy and closing, when really I suppose I should just ride the waves and hold them. Still not sure on the best strategy really

Strategy is a good word. Trading strategy sounds like what you are doing, short positions, ride the climbs. Investing in current prices, news and market sentiments.
Long positions, investing in companies and industries longer term because you have evaluated growth.

I'm long on my investments now. But still re-evaluating my investments. Cant keep up with traders!

If there's value there, why not keep some? If the value doubles sell 50-75% then if it pumps you're still in.

I thought about selling my paltry single Tesla share a number of times on the way up on the hope of catching a pull back, but I'm glad I held off.

That's something I often consider. Although usually my positions close due to my stop loss being hit after I set it at a profit I would be 'happy with'... but that soon changes when it bounces back up straight after 😂

ha_banos whatever my strategy is, it's been working so far, but it's fairly high risk with positions using leverage (to allow me to spread over more positions for more diversity). Although I've started taking profits and opening X1 for hopefully more long term, but slower, gains. It's great seeing numbers rise with pace, but constantly knowing they could drop off just as quickly is a constant worry 😬
