Apologies for an extended absence - was on a round trip of Wales. It only rained ... once or twice!

It seems certainly like I have a lot of catching up to do on the forums --- more than a thousand posts since I last checked into these rooms! Astonishing!

Good question, Paulie. The disappointing answer is, completely nil!

I am on low rations until returning to decadent academia, because of the anti-stogie policies in my household ... just keeping a relatively small number in stock at the moment for *outdoor* social occasions during the long summer vacation.

Bring on September and an arsenal of fine cigars! And may the first year students who have the privilege of living in my block this coming year be well familiarised with the smell of pungent cigar smoke and strong tea leaves!

Hi all.

Mr GSS, for one horrid moment, as that picture loaded, with my relatives so close by ... I thought it was another diva from the GSS collection! How I was thankfully mistaken!

Mr Habanos, yes, I have a bit of reading to do next month before returning to academic decadence in late September. Nothing much, just some research for the old dissertation.

And absolutely, tell me about it -- when does it not rain in Wales?!!!
