All In A Day's Work

I got a fantastic djembe tutor in to my school for sessions with lots of the kids I'm teaching music to this week. This was so cool - and I get paid for having fun like this!

I have to teach these kids rudimentary keyboard, drums, guitar and bass guitar over two years and encourage them to write and record their own stuff. I have to cover African beats and jazz as part of the World Music section.

It's a girls' school, as you can see. This time next year it will be a mixed school. The staff who haven't taught boys before are frightened to death of the World Of Spunk waiting in the wings lol!

This clip will go on our new website, but I thought I'd put it here to see what anyone thinks. One of my sons took the clips. Goes out of time in one section, but it's good enough for what we need.

This is the coolest aspect of my job and I can arrange workshops in anything I want at will.

Can anyone else post a snapshot of what they do to keep the wolves at bay? lol

Hey cool one mate,if you can capture there attention you will have loads of eager kids wanting to play instruments,its fun mate and you will pick out the ones who are born to play and the ones who wanna (f**K)it up and piss about but they can be turned around,well done mate.great job.

Really nice mate...great to see the kids having a good time. The teacher looks a funky dude too (as my daughters would say).

Love the drums...animal was always my favourite Muppet character!

Not sure any footage of the Uni Library where I work would be so interesting. A few years ago we used to have single study rooms, and occasionally we would have to perform a bit of "coitus interruptus" when we noticed some joint occupancy! Otherwise, pretty humdrum I'm afraid!
