OUt Saturday, powerkiting and buggying. Great day for the wind, although a bit strong here and there.
Set up about 11am with a 4sq metre kite (Flexifoil Blade) and the wind picked up. I thought, mmm maybe not this size kite. One of the lads jokingly said "you might as well have a go with it, now it's out of the bag"
So I did
Set off on a run and really felt the acceleration kick in about three hundred metres away...started to think about 'scrubbing' some speed off and whoosh, a gust of wind caught me, whipped me out of the buggy about ten feet into the air and unceremoniously dumped me down, just as quick. Landed squarely (as opposed to anything like a collar bone et al, thank F) on my right foot and I tumbled like a bag of the proverbial. Buggy continued into hedge!
Poorly ankle all day, but the Brashers kept it in check. Not clever though and went to A and E the next morning: nothing broken, but a bad sprain
I've now got someone else's foot, possibly John Merricks...
