I tend to agree with Rhiannon, unless they are going to be well looked after then there is a better than average chance they will be allowed to get dry and not be a good impulse purchase some someone. I would hate to think that a good experience could be ruined by something like that.

I am not saying that small displays should not exist, in fact I think they should be anywhere there could be demand, but if they are going to be an afterthought then it may be better to not bother.

I knew a independant wine shop whose owner was into cigars himself. He treated the shop humidor as his own and only sold his fav sticks which he would have himself. That way he knew if they were good enough for him, he could sell them to others.

The problem I have found with small wine stores selling cigars is that they are rarely stored correctly and the humidors are not managed regularly. We have bought a few sticks from such places and they have invariably been so dry as to be barely smokable. This is not the introduction to cigars that I would wish for those impulse purchases by those new to cigars.

So whilst I would love to see more shops selling great cigars, I would much prefer to see fewer shops selling great cigars that are well kept.

      Sorry, Rhi.

I'm getting anti-bigot counselling somewhere in the North of England even now.

I just don't see women out and about smoking fat cigars, and I am constantly looking.

That's not to deny your existence.

      Soz.
