MLW is now complaining to all in earshot that I have cigars arriving every day which isn't true, every week perhaps and has identified Cigar Acquisition Disorder for herself . So excepting those already on order I'm on a ban till July! There is at least one box in the post and some singles however I should add. I saw this on FaceBook yesterday and thought that it was funny, not that we'd ever consider dumping a good woman for a smoke, would we?

Mine's not complaining, but she has mentioned that the post office have even mentioned it and she says "cigars again i suppose" whenever she has to sign for something...

But I have now kind of eased off. I have actually cut back on the browsing and worrying about missing something. And now the smoking has begun I will be able to make some room but for much later.

Make up and clothes, yep. But its the quantity not the cost. I must admit to being at full storage capacity though

Convert her wardrobe into a walk in humi, then you'll have more room for cigars.

Im lucky my missus has a make up and shoes and bags condition...... so as I only have cigars and motorbikes its fine, she has one more thing than me....thats how it works in my head anyway

At a dinner party on Saturday evening one of the guests asked how many cigars I had. Obviously with MLW sitting next to me I called the fifth amendment but then she chirped up, 'I know you've got thousands of pounds worth so you might as well tell her'. Eek! Not so under the radar as I thought!

The stuff of nightmares. I am yet to be directly questioned about my collection, single boxes as they arrive yes but not everything combined.

I am sure however that my partner knows a lot more than she lets on, I don’t for one minute think I’m going to get anything past her when making buying decisions.

I expect she’s saving all the evidence up to hit me with it at the opportune time

I think Mrs C has a latent understanding... while I don't have a fridge/cabinet humi, I have a continually growing collection of locknlock boxes. I keep x3 desktops on display, but she is no fool, she knows the plastic box collection isn't growing because I like plastic boxes!!!

Oddly she did have a grumble when I acquired quite a lot of pipe tobacco..... which was a fraction of the cost of cigars in reality!!!

That said I think she would have a mini-fit at the actual cost, just as I boggle at the hairdresser bills etc.... and for those not connected on FB or insta ... i haven't paid for a haircut in nearly 20 years.... my hair style is um.... unchanging!

I think I have defined my retirement plan - secure dead drop cigar delivery receipt & storage, followed by onward delivery for BOTL's who are under the scrutiny of SWMBO! All cigars received from me can then be explained away as gifts or/and trades!

I think I shall call it 'Coast is Clear' or 'The Hidden Humi' .... perhaps convert the remainder of my garage (the bit I used to smoke in has recently been claimed for a new utility room) into a walk in humi lock up.



Can you tell I am not really in the mood to start work this monday morning?!!

This is a great thread to understand that we are all, in some way, in a similar position.

I?m slightly concerned about my wife?s comments when a new addition arrives. Remember I?m only relatively new to CAD and she?s already saying ?is this some sort of addiction?. God knows what she?ll be saying in a few years time.

I can?t admit to having CAD to my wife can I? Or should I meet her head on and admit my weaknesses to avoid an American style ?intervention?? [emoji23]

Perhaps next time she makes a comment, I?ll respond with ?at least it?s not crack?...
