Aldi / Lidl is where my parents buy their chocolate eggs and booze.
It ends up in the bin or down the drain as it is very poor quality.

I must say I'm quite fond of Morrisons hazelnut chocolate bars. Nice and well priced for a basic treat. Not as good as real chocolate but better than American Cadbury muck these days.

I often wonder about the validity of these awards. I very rarely buy any branded food but having tried most of the booze in Aldi I was left pretty disappointed and went back to buying premium offerings I know I like. I love a bargain but it needs to have the same quality/taste.

The Aldi Islay whisky is decent...not hand any of the other offering...but for 17.50 you really can't go wrong .

I buy their cheap gin then infuse with rhubarb to make lovely pink rhubarb gin. Have to use cheap stuff as you don't want to impact the flavours with too much botanicals.20170809_171114.jpg
