No purchases for me for a bit

Just been told my job is at risk and will be made redundant at end of April.
I did want out but on my terms so had applied for another role and waiting to hear if I have it. Though was expected to be told yesterday.
So either it's going to be fantastic news that I managed to get the new job avoiding redundancy or the bad news that I've got 1 month to get a new job.

No purchases right now as I may need funds elsewhere but fingers crossed for a celebration box purchase next week.

Not been made properly redundant before and to be honest it's a bit scary.

In a similar position as you....just remember the saying when one door closes another one opens.

Was made redundant a few weeks back..just working my notice at the moe and looking for jobs...just keep your head up.

Been in the same boat as you since 15 January as worked the last 14 years for a company that no one had heard of until the 15th... Bloody Carillion!!!

As already said, one door shuts and gives opportunity for another to open..

I?m guessing construction? Where you based? Pisses me off hearing of companies & individuals getting shafted because of mentalists at Carillion. 120 day payment terms should be banned, it screws everyone, particularly smaller contractors. The government should also get a damn good slap - cheapest isn?t always better and if they done proper due diligence they?d realise this was a disaster in the making before awarding them contracts.

I work in construction myself, hence the strong views.
