Nothing exciting here; a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3. Bought last minute for a trip to Berlin. It was either that or one of the Canon Ixus models but they seemed a similar spec for 50 quid more!

I have a Canon Ixus for work and projects, my iphone for every day and a Leica D2 for pleasure.

The Leica is a great camera with a fantastic lens (although dated electronics) and I have yet to find a camera I would replace it with (just love the fully manual controls).

NB - added a few pics (of thousands) taken with the D2.

I have a lot of cameras and stuff..

              Large format:

From Linhof 10x8" Sinar P and F series...full range of Schneider Kreuznach XL's, Rodenstocks, and Nikon 10x8 lenses.

              Medium format:

Mamiya GX680 kit etc...Fuji 6x9cm wide and standard

              35mm:

Canon EOS 1 HS bodies D30 body and 5 or so L series lenses

Vintage: 70-80 all sorts, from large wooden to miniature, most brands

loads of pro darkroom kit - Devere, Durst and LPL large format enlargers jobo processors plus allsorts of other darkroom stuff (basically a full pro darkroom)

5 manfrottos from smallest to largest and 3 gitzo's with an assortment of heads

              Studio lighting etc...

              and I don't use any of it...LOL

              I use a canon S70 compact. (and sometimes the Canon D30 & a 17-35mm 2.8L)

As well as working as a professional for 10 years I used to teach old chemical processes at college when I had the time and various Architectural Photography seminars etc.

It's all in loads of boxes all over the place (in spare rooms etc)
maybe I will use it all again in years to come! should really get rid of it all but can't face the mammoth job of going through all the boxes.

will probably get rid of EOS 1 HS and update D30 to D5 mk 2 if I go back into sport, I stopped doing the short circuits and TT 3/4 years ago.
Stopped the Architectural and commercial stuff about 9 years ago.

When I go on holiday I do not take a camera.

              Cheers, ACMCC

I used to take photos at gigs and I'm thinking of going back to it. I used to use a Canon EOS 501N but now I want to go digital. I can't justing the d1 or d5 as I don't make enough from it, but I'm just wondering if you can suggest a 'semi pro' Canon for under a grand?

This is the camera I use, its a Sony Cybershot DSC-R1, my wife bought it for me a few years back for my birthday. For what I use it for it is more than adequate...

Yes If you search around A Canon D 40 would be fine with a good lens, try and go for a fast L lens, both the bike shots in my albums are shot on a D30 which is the predecessor, It's not worth changing D30 to D40 as there’s not enough of a difference, bear in mind that they are reduced sensor, I think I might wait a little longer for deals to come up on the 5D mk 2, I think the Mk.1 may be available on special

                      Thanks for that.

I've got a bunch of EOS lenses from the 501. Would they fit the D40?
