I don't mind the adverts too much, I normally fast forward through them anyway, and I also find it interesting how effective even the most stupid ones are - for example, as stupid as the Compare the Meerkat adverts are, they serve their purpose perfectly - they don't make us want to go and renew our car insurance straight away, but where do most of us go when we it comes to the time we need to do it? I'm sure I read somewhere that in terms of revenue generated before and after an advertising campaign, the original Compare the Meerkat adverts are the most successful ever.

The thing I absolutely despise about television is 'Celebrity' shows, normally I just block them out, but I currently keep seeing an advert for Celebrities Go Dating, and it genuinely make me angry whenever I see it. The whole premise is completely disingenuous and I literally have no idea who any of the people on there are, I have never seen any of them before. And worst of all, one of them actually says, "do they know who I am?" I'll answer - no, because no-one has any fucking idea who you are!! (I know it is all an act, but it still annoys me)

On another note - the thing that amazes me most about the 118 adverts is that people still phone directory enquiries, and they're on so often they do so quite often
