• Music to smoke to....

I like some latin sounds but am not very experienced with it. I have Spotify and will go through and discover some more stuff. But at the moment I just ask Google to play some Buena Vista Social Club .. and off it goes...

So here's a list of some music latino/cigar/cubana inspired ... but its not a long list any suggestions? I'll update this as we go.

Can be songs, albums, playlists we're in the modern age

Thanks!

I would recommend the following albums (on vinyl of course):

United Future Organisation- self titled
Guru- Jazzmatazz vol.1
Galliano- In Pursuit of the 13th Note

Have a listen to some Manu Dibango - a good starting point is 'the very best of African Soul'

Im listening to John Gorka tonight. Massive fan and actually went to amsterdam when he was touring a few years ago. If you like smooth american folk he has the best voice in the business

Depends on the mood. Love skate punk/country/80s metal/grunge/funky house and the odd gilbert and Sullivan musical lol

That's quite a throwback to the 90's! I know all these albums, haven't listened to them for years!

If you like G&S Moley, give Pineapple Poll a go. I should imagine it's good to enjoy a smoke with. I was going to produce it with the BRB a while back but it never came to fruition unfortunately.

Summertime Blues!

Really nice selections, amigos. Can’t go wrong with Latin and Caribean music, if you ask me.

But ol’ don TJ is of a different generation and prefers music from the sixites, especially the Beatles. Man! That’s like 100 years ago! But I must have an old soul, ‘cause I also like to listen to music from that era as I enjoy my favorite puros and a fine mexicant bebida...errr, I mean, beverage.

Usually when I smoke I like something chilled out and relatively down-beat. Something analogue too - as electronic music doesn't seem to fit

Jazz & latin always work. Can't go wrong with Cuban with a cigar too!

If you're on Spotify I'll drop you a link to my Latin/afro-cuban playlist, but it's pretty much all the usual suspects: Tito Puente, Buena Vista Social Club (and their solo projects), Beny More, Perez Prado, Ray Barretto, Desi Arnaz, Willie Colon... There's also the Afro-Cuban All Stars - similar to BVSC, but with the Cuban slant
