Random but brilliant YouTube Channels

So I watch a lot of stuff(crap) on YouTube, mainly when I'm smoking and it's usually cigar related or cooking as these are my two main hobby's. However i randomly found this channel Steve1989MREInfo:

It's video reviews of MRE's (Meal Ready to Eat); basically army rations. He eats all sorts from present day back to stuff from the 1950's which he still eats! Brilliant channel. Not just interesting to see what army rations were but quite entertaining aswell.

So does anyone else have any random but interesting YouTube channels? There's a lot of crap on there but sometimes there are some real Diamonds in the rough.

Well, I?m becoming a PC build geek lately. At the moment I?m enjoying a 2-year old R&J Short Churchill and watching the final chapter of a monster PC build at Tech Deals (google it).

Haha! Yeah, I noticed that, too. Sixteen gb of ddr4 alone is over $200 up in yankee land.

Now, while I’ve got you on the line (@deano), I have a question about upgrading the motherboard. I’m upgrading from a MSI P55 GD65 to a MSI Z370 and would prefer to leave Windows 7 in place, rather than a clean install.

I’ve come across a few suggestions on the google for leaving windows in place and would like to run them past you:

1. Simply install the new mobo and Windows 7 will take care of everything;

2. Make a few registry adjustments before removing the old board;

3. Delete all the mobo drivers before removing.

I’m considering the last one, but I’m not sure how to identify all the drivers to remove.

Any thoughts?

Geeks begone?

This place used to be full of PC build geeks. We?d they all go?

Althought the above post was directed at mi amigo, senor serious (aka, deano), response are welcome from all sources, including [MENTION=13372589]cigarmo[/MENTION].

I received all my upgrade components today (CPU, Mobo, liquid cooler, DDR4 ram, GPU) and I?m backing up my C drive data as I type, incase a mobo installation without reinstalling windows fails.

Anyway, I continue to search the interwebs for the best method to install these components, with the top three methods listed above.

So, any thoughts are welcome.

In days gone yonder one would just replace the motherboard and Windows would eventually figure out the rest. Usually multiple restarts were in order. Just make sure you have any Windows activation codes to hand. There's safe mode of course should you need it.

Perhaps download all the drivers you have and will need onto a USB stick. Make sure you have another system available where you can access a USB stick perhaps and the interwebs.

Ensure you have your Windows CD or image available.

I left the days of Windows behind long ago now. So my experience is old hat. And I'm nowhere near a Mac.

I think you'll be alright with simply changing the motherboard and letting Windows do it's job. These days it's fairly resilient. However you may need to get it activated again - via a phone call.

Best way would be a clean install. But if you must try to do it without reinstalling, change the parts, then when you bootup the first time dont let it boot normally keep hitting F8 to goto safe mode. If it boots into safe mode wait for a few minutes then restart normally.
