Replacement coffee machine and other suggestions

I'm about to bin a faulty Dolce gusto which to be fair worked for a good 8+ years but im interested in suggestions of it's successful replacement.
I am interested to try some of the fresh ground Cuban coffees that I have become recently aware of so this puts things on the fence between a pod machine or a filter type.
I respect your opinions of the finer things and welcome any feedback.
Also the budgets around ?120, that's probably helpful.

Basic Nespresso for pods or a filter machine that grinds the beans itself for about ?80 on Amazon. I use both depending on what I want to drink. You'll see a big improvement over a Dolce Gusto

+1 for filter coffee.

I don't like pretty much every espresso I've tried. Nespresso can be better. I've stuck to this over the years. Filtered slowly, manually.

If you can, grab yourself a Gaggia from ebay and make your own brew every morning. I know the pods are easy work with etc but not cost effective in the long run.

I grabbed a Gaggia Classic off ebay ?150 (a wee bit more than your budget) and buy 1kg of coffee per month at ?12 a bag. The beans are roasted about 30miles from me, ethically sourced, and I get to support my local roaster. Initial outlay was lot, there's no denying that, but I've had the Gaggia 2yrs now and its still going strong. Also great tasting fresh coffee every morning goes down a treat.

Not a massive fan of coffee machines, especially with pods. I'd second Jerry's recommendation of a grinder + Moka pot/cafetiere, depending on whether you want espressos

I've a really small kitchen so use my 2 cup moka pot every morning, really enjoy watching the coffee flow for the chimney bit.
Hate cleaning it though.

if you want a pod, i've found Lavazza A Modo Mio Fantasia LM7000 is great, pods aren't too expensive and can get some good deals on amazon, with the added milk frother it and makes a great latte too, or hot chocolate for the kidos.
