Well...some NCs are better than some puros, no doubt. But I've yet to meet the NC that beats the finest puros. Now, having said that, I know of a few NCs to sit quite comfortably beside the finest puros on the top shelf of don TJ's massive unit! And that's saying something!


A recent NC addition to the top shelf is the 2016 Regius Robusto Orchant Selection. Discovered while visiting mis amigos Americanos in San Diego a few weeks ago. Very impressive NC!

As promised, here are my thoughts on the 2016 Regius Seleccion Orchant Robusto (I sparked one up on Sunday)

Nothing noteworth on the unlight draw, but as soon as I sparked it up, the first thing that came to mind was "peanuts!" Crazy, right!?!

After a few puffs I got a distinct peppery taste (along with peanuts) and other fine unidentifiable flavors. Overall, this is a delightful, mild to meduim smoke that can be enjoyed morning, noon, or night...but never when doing chores. This stick deserves some quite time paired with a nice rum or beverage of your choice.

Hmmm, I wonder if it's the same as the one I smoked. I looked the 200th up and the lable/double band looks the same, but nowhere on my box does it say 200th annivesary - only limited edition.

Eitherway, it's become a Coro Fav and I will be on the lookout for another box or two of the robustos.

Not for everyone, I guess.

Nice! Samplers are the way to go on new sticks.

I've had both the hermosos and Robusto. Both nice, but for me, the Robusto is a wee bit nicer, or right in the sweet spot as someone said earlier.
