It is quite disconcerting to watch him slobber all over the cigars like that.

It does feel a bit like he isn't really enjoying them either which is always a shame too!

I once saw him try an H Upman half corona - he about swallowed it whole

Well, I consider anyone who was here when the UKCF began in the last part of 2008 as a "Founding Father," such as . I like to think of lads like chico CJ and don TJ as founding brothers (Jan 2009).

Back then, it was a simpler time, really. A time when there were about 100 members of which a handfull posted up everyday, all day....a time when the posts were pithy, punchy, and full of good humor and wisdon...a time which formed the foundation of these here UKC Forums. And for what it's worth....a time when a well placed smiley or two was an important part of every post.

        Just ask pvt. @El Catador

Unfortunately, most of those old boys don't post up much anymore. SAD.

          That made me belly laugh!

            That's terrible to hear.

He's left a mark though clearly!

A toast to Nic. (Toasting the foot)!!

In addition to the quite off puttingly fast/slobbery approach, he also doesn't seem to retrohale at all. I don't think this is 'necessary' to enjoy a cigar, but I feel it's quite important if you're trying to pick out and understand as much flavour as possible!

Watched a few of his vids.

I don't mind him but certainly looks like he has pissed all over the end of the cigar.

I quite like his videos and he seems to know a lot about the subject. As others have stated I always thought you were supposed to limit your draw frequency due to overheating and ruining the taste.

In his "battle of the robusto" vid he does say that he's smoking quickly to get through each one to reduce time.

Surely he'd know if he wasn't getting the most out of his cigars?

Lawrence chomps through about 12 cigars a day. He's a monster smoker. Nic on the other hand was a very considered gentle man (and smoker) and very rarely judged anyone on how they did or didn't enjoy their cigars.

Thanks for putting the post up. Its just great to see people enjoying a cigar. I love Nics honesty and accurate description , Laurence is just a larger than life character and I love that. I would have struggled by not having a drink in the other hand. Enjoy the weekend botl its going to be a hot one !

As for the Nic situation, his name is in a fair few of the video titles so I'm assuming Lawrence introduced Nic a couple of times when he first appeared and then the regular viewers of the channel knew who he is???

It's funny as after you mentioned him, I've inadvertently just seen Nic's name on the humidor section on the hand-down sticky...

Cool to see people like himself are lurking on here!

Hi Chris, Just to let you know, Nic Wing passed away a year ago. I can vouch that he was a splendid & very knowledgable chap & our group held an anniversary herf in his memory recently.

I really like Nic's vids, especially the interviews. Was very sorry to hear he'd passed away.
