IT'S GOT TO BE A CUBAN FOR ME (Nichol / Orwell)
On the mp3 player is a song that was written and recorded over two days at Drewmidorn's home last week when Drewmidorn and Robusto met for the first time. Drew went on to add and arrange/mix it after I'd returned home.
Our intention was to write 'something' specifically for this site, and here it is.
It can be who-did-what dissected, if you want that, but it was really good fun to do. I'll leave that to Drew if you ask him.
The pleasure comes from not having met before and not knowing what would be done. I hope we will do it again.
Listen carefully and you will hear that the subject is cigars. We smoked some fine ones off and drank lots of tea to help the creative juices flow.
We forged a highly intellectual end-product and any criticism or challenge from you, the listeners, has to come in the form of an abstract chalk smudge on a pavement, a blindfolded flower arrangement or lengthy night-vision video clips of you doing stoner dance shapes.
The song is available to stream on the front page. It has been registered in the way songs are already, so don't go copying or sampling it. (It is our baby).
You can have an mp3 copy if you email me - provided that you give it away for free.
Drew - You talk some, maybe.
PS Deano will post it tomorrow.
