At the end of a long day in Florida I decided to relax with a cold beer and Cigar, Julius Caesar Robusto, on the balcony. It was around 11pm and the hotel block was quiet. This cigar produced an enormous volume of smoke and the balcony was enclosed with a fine mesh. The smoke cloud above my head set off the fire alarm, I hadn't noticed the alarm in the corner of the balcony. The entire block and had to be evacuated. The car park was full of Americans in various states of undress including one couple in matching red silk pyjamas. The fire brigade turned out and had to confirm there was no fire.
I cant be sure 100% it was my fault, I didn't receive a bill, but deep down I am guilty. The smoked cigar went into the screw cap beer bottle and the bin outside the block.
I sincerely apologise to any of our American cousins put out by this faux pas.
Anybody else have any embarrassing smoking moments.
