Having had enough of constantly having to monitor the humidity in my Ikea cabinet I decided to invest in a second Haier wine cooler. Unfortunately AO.com no longer sell them which is a damn pity because ?11.78 a month was quite appealing. I bought a refurbished one from a trade seller on eBay for ?200 and ordered 2lbs of Heartfelt beads for it. It arrived this morning whilst I was asleep (working nights) and my son signed for it. First contraindication was the broken pallet base. Then as I started to unwrap it I heard the tell tale rattle of broken glass that would have been obvious to the courier as soon as he moved it.

I will keep you updated on how it goes

    Oh no!

That clearly arrived in the damaged condition, I'm sure you won't have too much trouble getting a refund/replacement. Good luck!

Should be no problem getting money back, although be prepared to have to send it back to the seller. Was it packaged like that? Just some bubble wrap?

Bubble wrap and commercial cling film then strapped onto the pallet. I've since found the plug underneath smashed to bits. Fortunately the seller has to pay the return when goods are defective.

thats utterly inadequate... the courier ought to be ashamed of even offering it to you/ your son...

            Wet Room!

            Hey PeeJay!

            Sorry for your loss...

Here's what don TJ uses to humidify his humidors. Fill the bottles every few months and forget about it.

Hey John, that's such a pity, let me take a look if there something in the area, there was one a few weeks ago that was a great bargain for a wineador. I can't believe the Seller would think that is adequate packaging for such an heavy duty item Shocking really.

I was liking the idea of your Ikeador too, such a shame the maintenance is a pain.

What a shame. I've got the same unit and it's been great.

I still have my original one of these, I think I may have kicked off the buying spree and yes they're great. Good news is that they're sending out a replacement and using my photos to claim off the courier.

Thanks for the effort you put in Sham, I got your PM. As you can see it should be resolved and I might even end up with the damaged one too. I was wondering if I could get a sheet of glass cut to replace the broken one.

no problem...good result from the vendor then.

I'm sure the glass shouldn't be a problem...but might be costly.

It would have been obvious to the courier when he dropped it too John! It wasn't loaded that way... Delivery guys can be right twats. Apart from this general feeling that they can stop anywhere they care too and block traffic while they delive, this kind of thing happens to me all the time. I once had a crate of Indian sandstone delivered, the guy pushed it right of the tail lift and a ton of slabs went crashing to the floor. The bloke looked at me and said I'd have to get the supplier to have it collected and re shipped. I hadn't signed for it so I just walked away.
Whatever job you do, take enough pride to do the bare minimum if you have no interest in doing it well.... I have to charge my customers 30% on materials to make it worthwhile dealing with the process.
